Pauline Jordan

Originally from Yorkshire, I have lived and worked in many parts of the U.K, Germany and France, now settled permanently in North Wales. I create small and medium size paintings in Acrylics and Mixed Media which are perfect for my instinctive and experimental way of working, drying quickly between multiple layers of paint, pastes, gels and found materials. The possibilities are endless, the process is always exciting and it leans my work naturally towards Abstraction. My inspiration is drawn from many sources, memories, music, literature, nature or simply a particular combination of beautiful colour, line and shape. My passion for colour and texture is the driving force. Every painting is a personal journey of exploration and contemplation, my ultimate aim is to draw the viewer in to explore the visual and tactile textures more closely to make their own personal journey of discovery.
My work is held in private collections in France, U.S.A. and various parts of the U.K.

Using Acrylics for their versatility and quick drying properties and Mixed Media for texture, paintings are constructed with multiple layers of paint that is washed, glazed, scumbled, dripped or splattered using brushes, spatulas, sponges, textures may be added using pastes, gels, marble dust, foil, papers, fabric, or any collected natural or man made ephemera.
